We had every intention of re-keying the locks once we moved into this house... because it's an old house and you just never know who has a set of keys, and because all 5 locks (front door knob, front door dead bolt, back door knob, back door dead bolt, and garage knob) have a different key. After we spent a few days in here, we realized that most of the locks didn't work well... if at all and the ones that did work were upside down. Needless to say we were more than happy to move them from the door to the garbage can.
Changing the knobs and dead bolts is a relatively easy task... the only hiccup was that the existing holes were slightly too small for the new hardware. Thanks to dad and some drill bits, that problem was easily solved. :o)
